Merry Christmas!

We spent this Christmas at home this year.  It was such a great, relaxing way to close out the year!

Leaving some milk and cookies out for the big man. Her face can't hide her internal monologue--"Don't mess with me, Santa. You promised me toys if I held up my end of the bargain, and I swear I've been good."

It worked. He came!

And he delivered not one but two Jet Airplanes!

And a mustache too for good measure.

And he didn't forget about Corinne either.  He gave her a stuffed giraffe (among other things) since she is so long and lean :)

Opening presents is the best.

And chewing on the ribbons is even better!

Post present opening shenanigans.

So busy putting on her Christmas jewels, she forgot her pants.

Sneaky Santa

What your Santa photo looks like when the big man has to hide so Maya doesn't see him and cry.

Corinne couldn't understand why Maya found him so scary.

Despite the reticence, Maya did manage to tell Santa she wanted a "jet airplane" for Christmas. Meanwhile, Corinne asked for something she could chew on.

The run up to Christmas

This holiday season was very special. Maya was finally old enough to understand this is one of our favorite times of the year and to anxiously await the arrival of Santa. At the same time, we got to spend our first Christmas as a family of four and Corinne was the perfect addition to the holiday season. Since this was such a special holiday season, we decided to pack it full with activities. From tree trimming to cookie decorating, we almost had as much fun leading up to Christmas as we did on the big day.

Tree hunting.

Tree trimming.

Cookie decorating at Aunt Wendy's.

Recreating the classic "cousins on the stairs" pic.

All gussied up.

Happy Hanukkah

We decided to fully celebrate Hanukkah this year. The girls loved the latkes, menorah, and, most of all, playing with the dreidel. I guess when you have kids who are 50 percent Jewish and 50 percent Nevadan they are bound to be dreidel masters!

Thanksgiving

We were so busy stuffing ourselves full of yummy food and celebrating Jake and Josh's 16th birthday, we forgot to take many pictures.  Here's the couple we managed to snap.

Corinne enjoying her first Thanksgiving with her Great Grandma.

Cousin love.

Home Means Nevada

Maya decided to learn a new song in honor of Nevada Day.  She may not have been born in the Silver State, but she's a Nevadan at heart.  Indoctrination complete.

Life with Tara

Corinne spent my first month back at work at home with Tara, our wonderful temporary nanny. She loved doing mini-photo shoots with C each day and sending us pics of our happy girl at work. Here are some of our favorites from Corinne's days with Tara.
