Recently, Maya channelled her inner Italian by supervising the making of some homemade raviolis by Mom and Aunt Jane. Mangia!

Sunny evenings

The slow down in blog posts lately is directly correlated to the arrival of sunny days. Recently, Maya had begun to request that we go play in the yard in the evenings.  She'll stand at the back door and point at it until we get the point and head outside. Her favorite activities are playing with her big red "bowww," pointing out the flowers in the yard, and walking the sidewalk searching for "boooos" (Maya's word for dogs, cats and anything else that's furry).

Open House

Maya's daycare recently had an Open House. We had no idea what to expect, as we'd never been to a program at her school before. In the end, we were so glad we went. All of the classrooms were decorated with different themes. Maya's pretoddler room was a "jungle" and had jungle themed art the kids had made all over the walls. The teachers had also put together a scrapbook for each kid that had pictures of what they do all day at school and more art projects they had done. We are so lucky Maya gets to spend her days at such an awesome place!

Daddy Day...

Last Sunday was Daddy Day.  Maya and Ryan spent the whole day together.  And, as is Ryan's style, he made sure the day was jam packed.  They met up with some fellow dads and kiddos for breakfast, went to the park and then finished off the day by taking in Maya's first Mariner's game.  Maya especially loved her first visit to Safeco, where she got to join cousins Ella and Emery in watching the M's beat the Texas Rangers 6-5.

Although she loved being at the ballpark, Maya is her mother's daughter and after a while got bored of the slow-paced baseball game.  Fortunately, she found another way to entertain herself:

Although this video isn't from Daddy day, it is on theme.  This is the newest trick that Dad taught Maya.  Now, she doesn't even need our help to tackle the stairs.
