Mwah!
We don't know where she learned it, but Maya has a new party trick. Every time you put a stuffed animal in front of her, she promptly gives it a kiss. She won't give mom or dad a kiss no matter how much we prompt her, but she'll pucker up for her animal friends no problem. Oh, Maya. Such a character.

Happy New Year!
Maya ringing in the New Year. Ok, in truth she only made it until 7 p.m. but still...
Over the river and through the woods...
For Maya's first Christmas, we made the trek to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Nevada. Although we had to log quite a few miles to get there (a 2 hour plane ride followed by a 4 hour drive), Maya seemed to enjoy her first visit to the Silver State. She got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the Hogle family, meet some old friends of mom's (the Juaristis and Erin), and explore Grandma and Grandpa's house.

When we got home from Nevada, the Christmas festivities continued. While we were away, Uncle Nick and cousin Ella had snuck into the house and left Maya another Christmas surprise--her own baby Baby Grand Piano. Needless to say, Maya loves playing duets with her dad:
The run up to Christmas...
In the run-up to Christmas, Maya got to spend lots of time at Gigi and Jack's new house (and in their awesome new playroom!). Maya loved getting to start out the holidays by spending quality time with the McMillan/Glant clan!
